From Inventory section, if you select View Holdings for an account that contains holdings, you will land on the Holdings List page. To record the details for the return of capital, click on the ellipsis menu beside the holding to update, and select Return of Capital.
When the system opens the Return of Capital modal, you can input/edit the required details such as Date, Account Type and Amount. Enter the Amount as the total return of capital for all units.
Upon saving the Return of Capital, the system will create a related transaction (in the Accounting section) for $0.00 reflected as a credit to whichever account type you selected (Capital or Revenue).
The return of capital will be reflected in the following accounting reports:
- Statement of Accounts
- Informal Accounting
- Holdings report
