Introduction
Public Notices in-app integration makes it easy for you to place and publish probate notices in local newspapers, newspaper websites, any Column.us website and on our Public Notices website without having to leave the Estateably application.
Getting Started
To get started, simply click on the Public Notices tab in any file and click the Publish Notice button.
Document Upload (Step 1 of 4)
- When you click Publish Notice, the Document Upload (Step 1 of 4) screen will appear. The following data fields will be populated with previously entered data from Intake:

- State
- County
- Upload your Public Notice for publication by dragging and dropping a DOCX or PDF into the upload section, or by clicking Upload Document and browsing to the location of the document.
- Once your Notice has been uploaded, click Proceed.
NOTE: If you have uploaded the incorrect Notice, click the trashcan icon to delete.
Validate Notice Document (Step 2 of 4)
- Review the uploaded Notice to ensure that all the details are accurate. Once you are satisfied with the Notice to be Published, click the Submit for Review button. If you are not satisfied, click the Back button to return to the previous step to upload another Notice.
NOTE: You can zoom, rotate, download, and print the Notice, or change the view of the Notice with the functionality in the toolbar.
- When you click on Submit for Review, you will be presented with a warning message indicating that you are about to submit your Notice for Review. Click Next to Proceed or click Cancel to return to the Validate Notice page.
- When you click Next, the following message will appear indicating that your Notice has been submitted for Review. Click OK.
Review Status (Step 3 of 4)
When your Notice has been successfully Submitted for Review, the Review Status (Step 3 of 4) page will be presented. This page will display all the completed steps as your Notice moves along the Approval and Published journey. As each step is completed, the status will be checked, and the next status will be in focus. You will also receive email notifications along the way.
- Pending Review – When you have submitted your notice for review, the status will be in Pending Review. The Cancel button will be enabled and the Waiting for approval button will be disabled.
NOTE: At any time before payment has been made, you can Cancel the publication of the Notice by clicking the Cancel button.
- Approved (YYYY-MM-DD deadline to publish) - Once your notice has been approved by the publisher, the Waiting for approval button will change to Pay and Publish, and will be enabled.
The following fields will appear:
- Publish – the name of the Publisher will be displayed.
- Publisher Cost – the Publisher and Column’s Cost will be displayed.
- Publishing Dates – depending on the number of publication runs required by your state/county legislation, each date will appear.
Click Pay and Publish to proceed; or
If you are not happy with the Approval, click Cancel to cancel the Notice and start the process again.
Note: You have until the displayed deadline date to Pay and Publish your notice otherwise it will be cancelled by the publisher. If your notice has been cancelled by the publisher, the Publishing tab will change to Cancelled. Click on the Cancel button to remove the order and start the process again.
Pay and Publish (Step 4 of 4)
Once you click on the Pay and Publish button, the Pay and Publish (Step 4 of 5) page will appear.
This page will display the following sections:
- Publishing Information – this section will display the name of the Notice being published, the name of the deceased and the Publisher Cost.
- Affidavit of Publication – this section explains that the Affidavit will be sent to the following email address. The Email Address box will display the Estateably users email address. Note: If the publisher does not support email, your Affidavit will be mailed to your organization's mailing address.
- Your Payment Info – this section will display the credit card currently stored in Estateably.
- Publishing Details – this section will display all the publish details, as follows:
- Publisher Cost
- Publishing Dates
- Estateably Publishing fee
- Subtotal
- Due Today
Click Pay and Publish to pay for your publication. To return to the Review Status (Step 3 of 4) page click Back to preview the Notice.
The following message will appear: Publishing your notice. This may take 1 – 2 days. Click Proceed to finalize payment or click Cancel to return to the pay and publish page.
Review Status
- Publishing – this status will remain in focus until all Notices have been published on the Publishing Dates as indicated. Once they have been Published, the status will be checked.
- Affidavit Delivered – Once your Affidavit has been received by email, the Affidavit status will be checked. If your Affidavit is being mailed, the Affidavit Delivered status will remain in focus.
View Notice
Once your Notice has been published, you can view your notice by clicking on the View on Website link or button. Once clicked, it will redirect you to the Public Notices website to view your notice.
