Accessing Compensation Fee Settings
Log in to your Estateably account.
From the Dashboard, click the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner.
From the left-hand menu, select Compensation Fees.
At the top of the Compensation Fees page, you will see three categories:
Estates
Trusts
POAs
Select the appropriate category to configure fees.
Editing Compensation Fees (Estates Example)
To adjust compensation fees for Estates:
Ensure you are on the Estates tab.
Click the Edit button located near the bottom of the page.
This will open the editable compensation categories.
Compensation Categories
You can configure percentages for the following categories:
1. Receipts
Capital Receipts
Revenue Receipts
Enter the percentage applicable to each.
2. Disbursements
Capital Disbursements
Revenue Disbursements
Enter the percentage applicable to each.
3. Care and Management
This fee is calculated by multiplying a selected percentage (for example, 0.4%) by the average annual market value of the estate.
Enter the desired percentage for Care and Management in the designated field.
4. Calculation Method
At the bottom of the page, you will select the calculation method:
Only Assets
Only Assets Less Linked Liabilities
Choose the method that aligns with your firm’s compensation structure.
Saving Your Changes
Once you are satisfied with your compensation percentages and calculation method:
Click Save Fee in the bottom-right corner.
Your updated fee structure will now be applied.
Setting Compensation Fees as Default
If you would like your configured fees to automatically apply to all new files:
Click Set as Default (bottom-right corner).
This ensures the compensation structure is pre-populated in every newly created file.
Removing Compensation Fees
If you need to remove configured compensation fees:
Click Remove in the bottom-right corner.
This clears the existing fee structure.
Important Notes
Setting fees as default applies them to new files only.
You can still modify compensation fees on a per-file basis, even if a default has been set.
Compensation settings for Estates, Trusts, and POAs are managed independently.
