Accessing a Task
Selecting "View Details" next to a task will bring up the task contents on the right-hand side of the screen.
Description
Certain tasks have descriptions that provide extra context to the step.Task status
You can change the task's status as follows:Incomplete
Not applicable
In Progress
Complete
Due date
Setting a due date will create a deadline in the Overview section. It will also automate email reminders to the task assignee.Assignee
You can assign the task to yourself or another collaborator.To-do list
Within the to-do list, you can create subtasks that can be checked off throughout the process. To access this section, click on the "To-do list" tab at the top of the task drawer.Notes
You can add notes to a task, and tag your team members using the @ symbol. Additionally, you can attach relevant files to the task. To access this section, click on the "Notes" tab at the top of the task drawer.
History
To see a history of status changes on the task, click on the "History" tab at the top of the task drawer.
Task Phases
The tasks in Estateably are automatically categorized into phases. This is to allow users to focus on relevant steps of the estate process as they go.
By default, phases with in-progress tasks will be open when you access the Tasks.
You can open or close the sections by simply clicking on the phase name.
Task Deadlines and Assignments
General information
Within each task, users (given that they have permissions to do so) can add a deadline to the task as well as add an assignee to the task.
By adding a deadline to a task, this will display a tag on the task in the list with the amount of time left to complete the task.
How to add or change assignees from the task list
Find the desired task in the list.
Click on the current assignee or "Assign to" link. You can then select the new assignee.
How to add or change deadlines from the task list
Find the desired task in the list.
Click on the current deadline or "Set Due Date" link. You can then select the new assignee.
How to make changes to assignees or deadlines within a task
Find the desired task on the list, and click "View Details" to open the task drawer.
Click on the Assignee or Due Date field to make changes.
Deadline-based reminders
Assigning a task to yourself or a collaborator on the file will notify that person and should the task have a deadline, they will be reminded at a frequency of their choosing (2, 5, 7 days or all prior to its due date).
If the task has a deadline but no formal assignee, the case file owner will be notified prior to the deadline.
Note: Deadlines and Assignees can be removed or changed at any time.
