Manage user permissions

Create custom roles or edit existing ones to control what each user can access within Estateably. This article explains how to manage permissions and describes the default role structures.

Create or edit a role

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Roles and Permissions from the left-hand menu.

  3. Click Create Role to add a new set of permissions, or click the pencil icon next to an existing role to edit it.

  4. Enter or update the Role Name.

  5. In the Permissions section, configure access across two tabs:

    • Management permissions — Admin Console access: viewing, adding, and deleting users, teams, permissions, and organization-wide settings.

    • File permissions — Case access: viewing, editing, and adding information to files.

  6. Click Save.

Default role structures

Your firm's permissions may differ if your Organization Admin has customized them.

Team Member

  • No Admin Console access.

  • Full access to files they are assigned to or added to as collaborators.

  • View-only access to files created within their team that they are not assigned to.

  • No access to files outside their team.

Team Manager

  • Full access to integrations, members within their team, and task templates.

  • Add, view, and edit access to saved contacts.

  • View access to Roles and Permissions and members outside their team.

  • Full access to files within their team; no access to files outside their team.

Team Director

  • Same admin access as Team Manager.

  • Full access to files within their team; no access to files outside their team.

Organization Admin

  • Full access to all admin tools: integrations, all members, task templates, saved contacts, and roles and permissions.

  • Full access to all files across the organization.
