Bulk edit and bulk delete transactions

Apply the same change to multiple transactions at once using bulk edit, or permanently delete multiple transactions using bulk delete.

Note: Restricted categories, transactions within a locked accounting period, and transactions linked to an inventory item cannot be bulk edited.

Bulk edit transactions

Step 1: Enter bulk edit mode

  1. Go to Estate Accounting › Transactions.

  2. Click the Bulk Editable Transactions checkbox.

A modal appears indicating restricted categories have been removed. Click OK to proceed.

The list now shows only bulk-editable transactions. Use the Filter By options to narrow the list by account, category, revenue, capital, investment, or other.

Step 2: Select transactions and apply changes

  1. Check each transaction to bulk edit. Only select transactions that will receive the same edit.

  2. Click Bulk Edit.

The bottom ribbon shows how many items are selected. Clicking X in the bottom-left corner unchecks all selected items.

Step 3: Make changes in the Bulk Edit window

A warning confirms how many transactions will be affected. Only fields you change will be updated across all selected transactions. Changes cannot be reversed.

Editable fields:

  • Account — change the account for all selected transactions

  • Date of Transaction — enter a date in YYYY-MM-DD format or use the calendar picker

  • Transaction Name — apply a new name to all selected transactions

  • Account Type — select Capital or Revenue from the dropdown

  • Notes — add a note to all selected transactions

  • Exclude from executor compensation — check the box to apply this flag to all selected transactions

After making changes, a confirmation modal appears. Click Cancel to go back or Proceed to apply the changes.

Re-categorize transactions

To change the category of selected transactions:

  1. Set Do you want to re-categorize transactions? to Yes.

  2. Select the Cashflow Type — Deposit or Withdrawal. This filters the available categories.

  3. Select the new Category to apply.

  4. Click Save.

A modal shows how many transactions match your cashflow type selection and how many will not be updated (due to a mismatched cashflow type). Click Proceed to apply, or Cancel to return.

Bulk delete transactions

  1. In the Transactions list, click the checkbox in the top-right corner to select all transactions, or check individual transactions.

  2. Click Delete.

A confirmation modal warns that the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to return.

Conclusion

Transactions are now updated or deleted. Contact [email protected] if you need help.
