Integrating with Clio

Estateably integrates with Clio to help you populate Intake and Contact fields directly from your Clio matters.

Updated this week

The Clio integration is included with the Productivity Bundle, see Estateably Pricing for more details.

Overview

The Clio integration allows you to map Clio fields to corresponding Estateably fields. Once configured, you can import data from Clio into Estateably when creating a new file, saving time on data entry for intake and contacts. Keep in mind that this is a one-time, one-way import.

Step 1: Activate the Clio Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings by selecting the gear icon in the top right corner of Estateably

  2. Select Integrations from the left-hand menu under Organization

  3. Find Clio in the list of available integrations and click on it to expand the row

  4. Click Activate. Estateably will redirect you to Clio account for authentication

  5. Click Allow Access in Clio to authorize the connection

  6. You will be returned to the Organization Integrations section with the Clio integration now active.

Step 2: Map Clio Fields to Estateably

Once the Clio integration is activated, you will need to map the fields from Clio to Estateably. This will ensure that the correct data is transferred into Estateably.

  1. From the Clio integration row, select Configuration

  2. You will see a list of Estateably fields alongside their corresponding Clio field options

  3. Map each field by selecting the Clio field you want to bring data from for each Estateably field

  4. Make sure each field in Clio maps to the field where you want the information to land in Estateably

  5. Save your configuration once all fields are mapped

Conclusion

The Clio integration populates Intake and Contact fields only. It does not sync accounting data, transactions, or documents. If a field is left unmapped in Step 2, it will not be populated during import.

Once your mapping is complete, you can import Clio data by starting the file creation wizard and selecting Import from Clio when prompted.
